WF Arts Council Calls for Mystery Art Exhibition Submissions

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) – Do you have an artwork you would like to show off? The Wichita Falls Arts Council is now accepting artist submissions for the Mystery Art Fest exhibit.

The exhibit and auction will take place October 1-20, 2022. This annual event typically receives over 200 original works of art donated by local, regional and national artists.

Arts Council officials encourage artists of all levels and ages to submit their original works.

The entry categories are adults 18 and over and youth 17 and under. All artwork must be under 8 x 8 x 10 inches and can be in any medium except photography, digital art, or jewelry.

Artwork will be judged and exhibited by category, including abstract, animal, floral, landscape, portrait, still life and symbolism. Artists can deposit their works during business hours at the Kemp Center for the Arts, by the deadline of Thursday, September 8, 2022.

The works of art will be displayed at the Kemp Center for the Arts and the arts council will organize events to celebrate the exhibition:

  • September 8 – Final deposit of works of art
  • September 30 – First dinner of the gallery of taste and preview
  • Oct. 1 – Gallery and online auction open to the public
  • Oct. 6 – Launch party and artists’ reception
  • October 13 – Wichita Falls Poetry Society Reading and Gallery open late until 8 p.m.
  • Oct. 20 – Finals and Closing Reception with Live Auction

Proceeds from this auction directly benefit their galleries and artist education programs, which focus on local and regional artists.
